DB> For Summer Camp, we are going to a camp outside of Nashville.
BP> Camp Boxwell.
DB> We will be there week of July 5th.
BP> We will just miss being there at the same time. Our
BP> week is June 28 through July 3. It would have been
BP> nice to meet.
Yes - We are being allowed to camp 1 day early on July 4th since we are
coming in from out of town.
DB> Will try to keep the food contained! We are accustomed to very hot
DB> weather for summer camp and problems with animals in camp.
BP> Good, because it does get hot and humid there on the
BP> lake, and the skunks do come calling if they smell
BP> food. Also bring plenty of tick repellent!
Just like Mississippi camping!
BP> I'm jealous of your trip to the USS Kidd, we can't even
BP> get into the USS Alabama. We are going to the Lost Sea
BP> cave next month, but still have to come up with a
BP> replacement trip for February.
You have to make reservations early. Both ships are limited and popular.
We are going to a private farm for our January campout - close because we
have WEBELOS Scouts coming. The boys have been asked to plan the February
campout. During Spring Break, we will be camping at Shiloh - a reward for
meeting the Christmas Wreath sales goal. Beginning in March, the boys will
be working on their Cycling Merit Badge, so they will cycle down to an
overnighter at Rocky Springs Camp on the Natchez Trace Parkway. April is our
Camporee.
BP> If you are still interested in a Troop 74 mug, the cost is $6.00.
Send me your address by netmail, if possible, and I'll send the money.
BP> Gotta run, have a troop committee meeting tonight.
BP> This one hour a week stuff wears you down after awhile.
Don't you love it!
BP> Troop committee tonight, Troop meeting tomorrow night
BP> (a Court of Honor where my son will be awarded Star
BP> rank), and District Roundtable Thursday night.
Give your son my congratulations!
YIS,
Don
