I think it only seems that way.

I think it boils down to that /within/ space light speed is/was still at 
a max of 1 c. (duh!), but *space itself* is expanding so, relatively 
speaking, objects seem to have traveled faster.

One might compare our 3D space to the 2D space of a balloon with dots on 
the surface. If you blow up the balloon, you'll see the dots moving 
apart. The dots on the surface themselves, cannot break the speed limit 
within the surface of the balloon.


If you tried to move an object, with mass, to the speed of 1 c, its mass 
would become infinite.
