So just prior to Vista....the "general manager for platform
evangelism" takes a year off "doing philanthropy" i.e. n the
period of it's launch & then is going to google......

Most curious. One would have thought that if the platform was so good the
"general manager for platform evangelism" would be overjoyed
& would stick around.
