subject: MFT nearly full

From: Adam

Dear All,

My laptop is used to do lots of build many times per day. It has started
being somewhat flakey e.g. deleting a file takes ages if done through
explorer.....

So I thought ...time for a defrag so I d/l'ed diskkeeper & ran it....

It gave me a health warning :

Health
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
     Warning!

The overall health of volume D: is degraded

The overall health is at "Warning" level for the following
     reasons:

     1. The MFT usage is currently 92 percent of the total MFT
size, which indicates it is likely the MFT will become
     fragmented.

A) WTF? i.e. what does this mean & what happens when MFT usage gets to 100%?

B) What can I do about it? Is there a "repack the MFT" option
somewhere in Windows?
