subject: Linux FAQ

 Hello !
For some reason, the Linux FAQ arrived in pretty poor shape on my system. I
guess it didn't fare any better on others, sorry about that. Obviously the
program used for automatic posting isn't quite as good as the test run made
it appear. That will be changed in the future. I had settled on 3 x 16k
messages which should make it to most systems. We won't have the discussion
on 100 lines again I hope. There are now many sources to get the FAQ, and
those are posted weekly. My apologies for the mangled messages.
Point 2: the FAQ is growing slowly. I still have a backlog of info to include
thanks to private mail from several people. My problem concerns the usenet
newsgroups ressources. What I want is your input on whether that is really
usefull. I mean a) your provider may not carry some of those anyway and b)
you should be able to find out what newsgroups are available at your
provider, and if it offers linux newsgroup. Moreover, this is a fidonet FAQ,
and many people may not have access to internet at all.
As far as web resources are concerned, I took a mid-way: there are some in
the FAQ, but my own web page has many more, so I only included in the FAQ the
most basic ones and a pointer to my page. That prevents that section from
growing too much :-)
Please let me know by netmail/eMail what you think about this and which way
you want the FAQ to go.
