Synchronet can intercept standard out of any program. Doesn't need "an app" for

Dunno. If it uses standard in/output (stdio) and uses ANSI terminal control
sequences, it should work great as a door.

Are you thinking of SexPOTS maybe? That "app" is a serial/modem to Telnet
gateway program and really has nothing to do with pushing text.
