RD>> detail of how the DF can be done with APRS.

II> Oterwise, is there somewhere on the Inet that they could be found? I
II> could send my Co-SysOp after it. (I don't surf the Inet.)
If your sysop has Net acces he or she can do a Yahoo search for APRS796.
It should lead them to the site I go it from.
The file is a recursive ZIP that must be undone with the command-line of:
PKUNZIP -d ???.ZIP to restore all the files and directories.
The latest version is 8.?? now.
RD>> For a full-blown APRS set-up you only need the APRS software,a TNC

 RD>> station.
II> I would still need to get a TNC, though, and those things aren't free!
Baycom 1200 baud multi-mode (packet,cw,wefax, rtty) TNC ran me $145 CDN.
Simple little TNC that plugs in the comport of any computer.
The wire to the radio is a simple 4 wire modular-jack phone cable so its
cheap to replace if you need to sue the modem on more than one rig.
Should be less than $80 US.
