TR> Many critics of Putin have died. Too many in fact for it to be
TR> `coincidence'.
TR> Here's a few:
TR> Boris Nemptsov, 2015... shot in the back four times in sight of the
TR> Kremlin. Killer never caught.
TR> Boris Berezovsky, 2013... foundd dead inside a locked bathroom with
TR> noose around his neck. Coroner could not, however, determine if it
TR> was suicide or murder.
TR> Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova, 2009...Markelov shot by
TR> masked gunman near Kremlin, and Baburova was shot as she tried to
TR> help Markelov.
TR> Did I mention Anna Politkovskaya, who was murdered in 2006?
TR> Sergi Magnitsky, 2009... died in police custody after a severe
TR> beating and being refused medical help.
TR> Natalia Estemirova, 2009... kidnapped outside her home, shot
TR> several times including once to the head and dumped in nearby
TR> woods.
TR> Alexander Litvinenko, 2006... died after drinking a cup oftea laced
TR> with polonium-210 at a London hotel.
TR> Sergi Yushenkov, 2003... gunned down outside his home in Moscow.
TR> Yuri shchekochikhin, 2003... contracted `mysterious illness' and
TR> died suddenly, days before he was to depart for the United States;
TR> News people and `Putin' critics in the Soviet Uni... er.... in
TR> Russia don't seem to fare very well!
TR> Must be something in the air!
Well, we probably should divide criminal cases from political ones.
There is no evidence that the people mentioned by you were killed by
Kremlin's death squads. I don't believe it because these people didn't
constitute a menace to Putin's power.
I also don't believe that those Ukrainian journalists I mentioned above
were killed by Kiev's authority.
But an active life or business activity during the period of wild
Russian capitalism almost always creates enemies for people. No doubt
the crime situations in Russia and Ukraine are far from perfect.
Bye, Tim!
