Hello Alexander,
LL>> What do the people (Crimeans) want? Did any of them ask for
LL>> conflict, or violence? Most, if not all, speak Russian. So why
LL>> would anybody be upset if Russian is spoken rather than Ukrainian
LL>> or Tatar?
ak> The Ukrainian nationalists demand so that the Ukrainian language to
ak> become the only state language in Ukraine. Today Russian texts were
ak> removed even from the info plates at Kiev's airport.
English and French are the official languages of Louisiana. No
official language limits what people can say, read, or write. But
making a language an official language does impose restrictions
that may be difficult for a people to overcome.
Many states have passed laws making their state English-only.
This has imposed a hardship on those who speak Spanish, as well
as others who do not speak English. Louisiana is an exception,
due to its French culture and number of French-speaking people.
LL>> Language defines who a people are. Crimeans are very independent,
LL>> but view themselves as being part of the Russian civilization.
LL>> Although Crimea has three official languages (Russian, Ukrainian,
LL>> Tatar), not many Crimeans speak Ukrainian or Tatar. Some even claim
LL>> that Crimeans speak better Russian than Russians in Moscow.
ak> The present Crimean parliament issued a law admitting free using of all
ak> three languages Crimea.
The rights of all peoples should be protected, not hindered.
