Winning a batting title isn't the same as breaking a home run record. A 
batting title is based on a minimum of plate appearances and when a player is 
traded to another league, their *record* is frozen and it's up to their 
opponents to beat them (and if the player is a big flop in his new league, it 
doesn't matter because it won't count against him).
