From: "Rich Gauszka" George, Yep, I have a Mac Mini in the living room for use as a media pc. I configured mine with 2GB of RAM though as I'm using the Parallels virtual software ( www.parallels.com ) to run Win 2k in place of using the Apple dual boot XP/wga stuff. In use the mini's worked quite well but I had had problems with the scheduling of sleep mode ( doesn't always work for me) so now I just schedule a daily power off/on cycle ( never fails ). I have had several hangs when I had the mini set to turn my plasma display off after several hours of idle time ( it would never wake the display up again ) so I avoid that now. I'm using the Apple wireless keyboard but ditched the Apple wireless mouse for Logitech 2-button ( makes life easier ) Apple just released the 10.4.7 software update which I applied last night so maybe the sleep/saver glitches are gone As a Mac neophyte I found the O'Reilly book 'Switching to the Mac Tiger Edition' by Progue and Goldstein quite useful I had some problems finding a usable 'universal'/intel AC3 codec and finding the usable DivX software ( had to use the beta ) but they've just announce the 'universal' version of 6.5.1 on 6/29 ( haven't tried it yet ) I've been using http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ and http://www.versiontracker.com/macintel/ to locate software for the mini.
