I think Silicon Chip magazine had something a year or so back.
From memory they used a chopper to dim the lights in the daytime
mode. The advantage is that the circuit can be added in parallel
with the normal headlight switch, and doesn't interfere with it
or the flash switch.

The index at www.siliconchip.com.au should find it, and somewhere
I read that they were putting their projects online.

But I've checked out their site and can't find the index.
