timEd is copyright Gerard van Essen. Modifications released under the GNU
General Public Licence (GPL) version 2. Please refer to the file named
LICENCE for further licencing and copyright information.

Quick Start

1. Extract XMSGAPI to a folder named "xmsgapi"

2. Extract timEd to a folder named "timEd"

3. cd xmsgapi/unix/gnu-c

4. make [or gmake on BSD systems]

5. cd ../../../timEd

6. make [or gmake on BSD systems]

7. (optional) strip timedunx

8. mv timedunx /usr/local/bin

Supported Environments

timEd has been successfully compiled and tested in FreeBSD, Linux and
Cygwin environments.

Compiling

To compile timEd you require the XMSGAPI library (currently maintained by
Andrew Clarke), the GNU C compiler, and GNU Make. The latest release of
XMSGAPI is currently available at

http://blizzard.dnsalias.org/fidonet/xmsgapi/

Follow the instructions on how to compile XMSGAPI.

The timEd build process requires the XMSGAPI directory to be branching off
the same directory as timEd, eg.

/usr/src/xmsgapi
/usr/src/timEd

Where the timEd makefile will look for libxmsgapi.a in

/usr/src/timEd/../xmsgapi/unix/gnu-c/

(ie. /usr/src/xmsgapi/unix/gnu-c/)
