By "major league" record you mean breaking ML records within your own
league. That's the part of baseball that doesn't make sense. "Major
league" records are "broken" constantly, yet a player is penalized if
traded from league to league. Didn't a player a couple of years ago win
a batting title in the NL even though he was traded to the AL? Name
escapes me.
