subject: Some new prog

Hello All,
Bought me some new ceedees:
Tangerine Dream: _Exit_ - very different from _Phaedra_, _Ricochet_ and
_Encore_, not as psychedelic, but still very good. It's a rather typical 80's
sound, but very original. Rating: 7.5/10
Ozric Tentacles: _Strangeitude_ - not quite as 'weird' as I expected, but
still very good. The title track is really great. Next day, I bought
_Arborescence_, which seems less interesting, but it's still a fair album.
Fish: _Sushi_ - a live album, and an official one (no 'fanclub bootleg')! The
recording quality is very good, the athmospere is 'fishy' (stories,
introductions to songs, foul language, the public goes jamming with the band,
...) and the songs are great. Only 5 (shortened) Marillion tracks (He knows
You Know, She Chameleon, Kayleigh and White Russian + encore: Last Straw),
but they are more rocking than on the Marillion live CD's. It's a double
album, 2 hours of music! A good introduction to Fish (certainly if you like
Marillion).
Bo Hansson: _Lord of the Rings_ (Remixed & Extended with 2 other albums: _The
Magicians Hat_ & _Attic Thoughts_) - I only bought this because I am a great
Tolkien fan, and I am not disappointed. It's not a very good album, but it
has its moments. Sometimes it sounds a bit like early Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett
through Saucerful of Secrets). But I have never before heard of Bo Hansson.
With friendly greetings, | Fidonet: 2:292/867.5 |
