Lori check the tag number on the Q-jet and see what size it is..also you
might want to go back to the thermoquad if it's the older 600CFM unit. and
try believe it or not an old design of charger style heddman headders.. I've
had excellent luck and better flow with those hedders than 3 other
brands..next to jardine they flow the best with stock 318 heads
I've got a 318 setting on the engine stand now thats going into setup phase..
performer manifold, 600cfm edelbrock carb.. (their performance kit minus the
heads) lifters, cam, pushrods. I want to use the 340 heads if they get back
outa the shop in time to install it in the rampage.
(yeah I know, but it looks NEAT setting in the engine bay)
another update on the trick truck... it's going together nice.. 4 foot
extension for engine is done.. 440 is finished.. (blew up the dana rearend..
lets see if that billet 9incher'll hold to pure torque!) 4 link done! wiring
done. bed's welded and on. club cab setup is lined up and on the frame but
missing a coupla panels to finish it.. I've actually had it road moble till
the rearend blew out..sheesh I twisted the darn axles off the splines..I've
never had that happen! always smoked the spider gears. oh yeah wheelie bars
are a MUST.. first nail and it went up! scared the devil outta me. If I can't
see the road, I'm off the Gas and ON the Brake HARD..didn't like it one
bit.thats gonna be fixed along with the drive shaft hoop..
