Hi, Lee Lofaso!
I read your message from 10.06.2017 03:43
LL> What do the people (Crimeans) want? Did any of them ask for
LL> conflict, or violence? Most, if not all, speak Russian. So why
LL> would anybody be upset if Russian is spoken rather than Ukrainian
LL> or Tatar?
The Ukrainian nationalists demand so that the Ukrainian language to
become the only state language in Ukraine. Today Russian texts were
removed even from the info plates at Kiev's airport.
LL> Language defines who a people are. Crimeans are very independent,
LL> but view themselves as being part of the Russian civilization.
LL> Although Crimea has three official languages (Russian, Ukrainian,
LL> Tatar), not many Crimeans speak Ukrainian or Tatar. Some even claim
LL> that Crimeans speak better Russian than Russians in Moscow.
The present Crimean parliament issued a law admitting free using of all
three languages Crimea.
Bye, Lee!
