Hi, Kelly;

Have you considered using one of those el-cheapo >GASP!< CB-type SWR/field
strength meters, or do you need an accurate mV/Meter reading? It
shouldn't be hard to build a basic "crystal set" type of FS meter: A short
whip, a coil, (tuned or untuned), a crystal diode, a small cap, a pot and
a meter. If you want to get fancy, add a battery and a one transistor DC
amplifier, or even an op amp between the sensitivity pot and the meter.
You should be able to build one in an evening for $5-20, depending on what
you have in the junque box if you don't need a calibrated mV/M reading.
