In principle you are right! ;)

But I couldn't find any source code change announcements for at least the last
year or so in this area. Besides this would be done by other fido hobyists, so
you can't really complain if they stop doing this. The only thing you can do if
you don't like the current situation is ask nicely, or design and implement a
github to ftn annoucement system yourself. ;)
