Actually, and this goes to Michiel as well as anybody willing to listen,
nothing beats an eye-to eye if Fido-tensions get too high.
 
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt...
 
On the occasions when I was able to meet with people worldwide face-to-face
with whom severe differences of opinion existed my conclusion was that the
stuff which unites us, is equally the stuff that separates us.
 
One cannot get a correct opinion of someone else just by mail and on all
the opportunities I took to meet the enemy, I can only say that the day you
meet eachother in the flesh, hear the tremble in the voice and understand
how the words were spoken that actually were written it becomes a totally
different ball-game.
 
Indeed, Hampton Roads and the broader area are very rich in history and
warrants a visit, something which I'll definitely do one day in the
near-future.
 
Everybody is different though and while I personally enjoy travels to the
US quite a lot, many other people are in for a different thing, different
horizons, different mode of travel. This should not be interpreted as
"hating the US" or vice-versa ...
 
You know, I don't understand why it's such a big thing for Americans to
visit Paris, Venice, Rome, ... when there's such a wealth of things to
see/visit overthere that a lifetime does not suffice. And it goes the other
way around as well .... now you can ask the obvious question.
