Your beer didn't freeze, and the liquor *certainly* didn't freeze 
either. So all considerations of freezing points, latent heats of 
freezing, etc., are irrelevant. 
  
I'm sure that the containers are the important thing. Metal cans 
conduct heat far better than glass jars, allowing their contents to 
cool faster, and also allowing their cool contents to cool your hand 
faster when you touch them, so they "feel colder" even if they are at 
the same temperature.
