Hello Ed,

 >> My sincerest apologies to all for not being on my game today,
 >> as I am still trying to recover from Dierks Bentley's butchered
 >> rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" in last night's Stanley
 >> Cup Finals, televised to a worldwide audience.

EK> As the old saying goes - shit happens!

I have never heard a worse rendition of the national anthem
in my entire adult life. And that includes Roseanne Barr's comic
version, which so many folks took offense at. Bentley did not miss
any words, or try to poke fun at anything. His singing was just
plain awful. At first I thought it was my television set. Then I
thought it must have been something wrong with my ears. But given
the reaction of the crowd, it became obvious to me that the guy
simply could not carry a tune if his life depended on it.
