He may have done but people should have objected to the content of the
article instead.  As Vlist admitted in his more recent article, the service
he was describing is essentially worthless.

The office had been abused before BF assumed it and is likely to be abused
again if BF leaves it.  Blame Tom Jennings for this because he not only
based Fidonet's structure on a very naive view of human nature but also
killed off IFNA in 1988 for good measure.

I sent my first email to an IP address through a Fidonet gate in 1992 and
Fidonet grew exponentially at that time.  If we had been able to maintain
that, I could still be using my fidonet.org address for email even now.

You don't have to be sorry.  You could consider yourself lucky. :-)  I
didn't get my node until 1990 but I had been a point since 1988 and Germer
took over moderating PERFECT in 1989.
