Yeah, I've messed with 'em. The R-7000 is........ ummmm..... nice. Very
nice.

Yes? So can it on my Turbowhopper PRO-2004's and PRO-2006's. Piece
of cake, actually............
BF> I can scan any list of frequencies (and log hits, if I want to),
Ditto. Me, too. The logging consists of:
channel, frequency, mode, delay status, lockout status, date, duration of
hit, and then a number of optional data, including signal strength. :-)
BF> and also, in rotation, search a band, also logging hits if I want to.
Ditto.
BF> IOW, the radio will do the scan, do the search, do the scan, do the

Ditto.
BF> I've not seen the capability with a '2006.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, that's what makes Life so cool. There are always such sweet
and wonderful surprises.
BF> I have *2* of them. I'm not in any way putting down the 2006.
I know that. :-)
BF> Nor am I trying to diminish what you can do with them.
I know that, too. You need never mention it again. Like I would not put you
or your R-7000 down. You and it are too high quality for that. :-)
But my TurboWhoppers will still kick a R-7000's patooty in many, many ways.
Not all. But a lot. :-)
BF> I bought to fill my needs/wants. The Icom will do things I couldn't
BF> do another way. It's overkill for the vast majority of scanning,

THAT is the killer. I'd like to have one. But some dude on the Internet is
selling three of 'em, new in the box, pre-April 1984, for $1000 a pop. Geez,
for a kilobuck, I can MAKE a radio machine about as good in many ways, and
better in most.
BF> But sometimes there's just no other way to do what I want to do.
I know....... it's the only "game in town", sometimes.
BF> Besides, I have too much money, and needed to spend some of it! ;-)
I understand. I hear of people like that once in a while. It kind of keeps
me trucking on the narrow and righteous path.
:-)
