I got really used to using Vim at a previous job.  I explored its features and
ended up with a .vim configuration directory in my home directory that had
custom color schemes for a few different programming languages, and I had
macros for things like removing extraneous whitespace, adding Doxygen-style
comments above functions in code, etc..
