when i would take yearly vacations i had cameras setup in the driveway and
doors and we had a guy come to do the pets twice a day.  

even that wasnt good enough. if you leave your house, have someone stay there. 
just pay them well.  if someone wants to take your stuff they can put on some
mover costume or wear an orange hardhat and they can rob you blind.
