Bjorn,

The helicopter was a Mil-26 and you can easily find out about it on the
Web.  It is the world's largest helicopter and has a payload capacity of a
Lockheed C-130 Hercules and then some.

The one we saw here had been chartered for the lifting of heavy equipment
in Alberta's oil fields but it was chartered by Ekati to bring in heavy
equipment to the NWT diamond mine that the company had not been able to
bring in over the ice roads.
