The pay must be pretty good 

A few years ago, news reports revealed that there were doctors
working as consultants at one of our hospitals who were
collecting more than 168 hours pay a week, and still had time for
their private practices, golf sessions, and I guess some home
life.

The secret was that they were paid for 2 hours each time they saw
a patient, and an hour or so around the recovery ward of the
hospital might allow then to see a dozen or more patients....

"How is this patient progressing? Alright? Keep up the treatment
for a couple more days. Now, who's next?"
