I appreciate ("love" is probably too strong a word) vi/vim, because it's always
available regardless of what *nix flavor/version/distro, works with all
terminals/configurations, and you can do all your editing tasks without moving
your hands away from the "home" position on the keyboard. Can't really say that
for any other editor.
