KJ>The internet folks have organized a letter-writing campaign to try to
KJ>notify as many pet stores, bird clubs and vets as possible. I will be
KJ>getting info on who to contact for help, and a list of band numbers,
KJ>and will post it out here within a day or two.
KJ>Thus far, the police have no leads, and have been pretty useless in
KJ>this case. So if these birds are to be found and returned, it's going to
KJ>be up to individuals.
Send me info on this Kathy if possible.
There are swaps and such here in Fl almost every weekend.
Just in case.
Really the oddest thing that I saw in the collection was the Souances
which almost no-one has, ditto the fallow green cheeks. I bet there are
about two or three breeders in this state with those two, if that. I
think Howard has the fallows but not the Souances. And at one time he
sold off his painteds. Maxine June does the little Pyrhurrah conures
too. Bernie Levine of Parrot Jungle might have some. He used to be in
the import business.
Those are the things I'd keep my eyes out for in a parcel of birds being
sold. OR even showing up at a dealers suddenly individually.
Band codes-- need 'em. Most important in this sort of thing.
BTW, I have a friend from the local bird club here that called one of
the shops she sells out of state to, was in Chattenooga, and they had
not even caught wind of the theft. Perhaps this lady should get the word
out throughout her own state as well? I don't know how thorough the info
sweep has been????
Thanks, and if I can help I'll be glad to!!!
