The site someone gave me for data on these things said that the
new ones MIGHT be drop-in replacements for the old ones. I didn't
think it was worthwhile to bother trying.

Yes, this one is the same. But the eject mechanism is on the
faceplate, and there didn't seem to be any easy way to "fudge"
it.

If I had a broken drive with a compatible faceplate I could use
that, but as it stands it is not going to be a lot of use.

But it can go in the "useful scrap" box just in case
