We are looking to have different connection capabilities for employees and visitors. One access point we are looking at is: http://www.netgear.com/Products/BridgesAccessPointsandExtenders/AccessPoints/WA G102.aspx The 2.x firmware allows multiple SSIDs to be defined on each of the two wireless bands. Each SSID has its own security type (WEP, WPA/2, etc.) and VLAN. The employees will connect to the "employee" SSID, which will put them on the employee VLAN (i.e., inside the firewall) at the access point. Visitors will be given the current password for the "visitor" SSID, placing them on a VLAN that is outside our firewall. Nice things like PoE and RADIUS support are available as well. /m --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 106/2000 633/267 |
