05-11-05 13:21, George Pope told James Bradley about Hello!? How do, George? GP> On (11 May 05) James Bradley wrote to George Pope... JB> JB> That's a tidbit I can't confirm or deny. You'd have to look *up* JB> their JB> JB> family tree. I could just about guarantee he wouldn't be the son. JB> JB> Well, not in the biological sense. 0-8 JB> JB> GP> Unless the keyword is "bastard", eh? JB> JB> OUCH! Fictional characters aside, I'd say you're trying to get me in JB> trouble. GP> Okay, I'm confyuzled now! Come to think about it, the moderator seems incommunicado. When I first started on Fido, we had a crachety moderator on a city-wide Gardening echo. When I wrote "Crotching" one day to describe a trees growth tendency, she hit the roof, *it* hit the fan, and she exposed herself as a numbskull. Ever since, I'm rather reluctant to push limits. "Bastard" while too often misused, is little understood for its true meaning. Sometimes moderators only run their pattern recognition, and fly up a flagpole before they buy a dictionary, or understand the topic they are professing to be an expert on. BTW, d'ya hear the definition of expert? X prefix -meaning has been spurt noun ...Ahhhh, you're trying to get me in trouble again! ... No, no, nurse! I said, "PRICK his BOIL!" ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.20 --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: -=-= Calgary Organization (403) 242-3221 (1:134/77) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 134/77 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
