09-28-08 07:34: Bob Ackley to James Bradley, "Testicular Cancer" BA> My sister says he has a sqamous cell sarcoma in his hip and BA> another one in his lung. Since squamous cells are skin cells BA> neither tumor is supposed to be where BA> it is. He had a squamous cell tumor removed from behind his BA> ear a year or so ago, apparently it has spread. He seems to be BA> doing OK, and will start chemo next week. It's amazing how prevalent cancer has become. I heard a few times now, close to 1/2 of us guys, and well over 1/3 of women are predicted to contract some form. (These are only the figures I use to ballpark-recall the report.) Maybe, the number of diagnosis is increasing due to our curiosity in medical conditions, as "natural causes" doesn't seem to be reported as a cause of death like it used to. To me, a lightning strike seems more 'natural' than a skin tumour in a lung. Anyway, and no less, I hope the best to your BIL! You're doing all right? ...
