Apart from ISDN, (Which requires some other interface hardware other
than a conventional modem), a digital 56k line, as is a leased line or
what-have-you, (depends on local telco's conventions), has to be "uncoiled".
In other words. Our normal lines have coils along the poles every three miles
or whatever.. To use one of these lines as 56K the coils have to come out.
