Jay P. Hailey,
In a message on 4 July, you wrote to me :

Well, hopefully you won't be the first that you know of! :)
I can understand them wanting to protect their intellectual property
interests, but to me, trademarking *names* is a little too anal for my
tastes. Next thing you know, they'll be trademarking "phasers" and
"Heisenberg (sp?) Compensators". Where will it end?
I can see it now... Paramount trademarks enough names and items, and when
it comes time for the scientific/industrial world to produce them for
real, they'll all have to pay licensing and royalty fees to the big "P"!
Better stop now... that thought just gave me on slobber-knocker of a
headache...
Steve
