I have to guess the meaning of the above sentence, cause my dictionaire  
spares some words.

So you're somewhat lucky. There might be another need f.e. acessing the line  
elements via a keypress.

No, that wasn't meant that way. It would have been nice if the program would  
have worked by hooking into the kbd ints 9 and 16, checking for ctrl-break,  
and dropping it if told eventually before reusing the originals.
