Hi Dwight,
DB> Paolo, thanks for the tip. I tried to use a PowerPoint

DB> do you do that? Do I have to use a WordArt object to use the
DB> Autotext??
If the entry is pure text, I'd use WordArt for two reasons:
1) The symbiosis between WordArt and Word is likely to be
_slightly_ stronger than between PowerPoint & Word. Both will
use OLE, but it is likely that the set of behaviours and
characteristics of the object interaction (how's that for techo
talk?) will be richer in the former case. Hence autotext may
work with WordArt (haven't tried it myself - from memory) but not
with PowerPoint.
2) The object overhead of WordArt object should be much smaller.
Remember with OLE, you are embedding a file of the corresponding
type. (if you are using embedding, then you need to start up the
other application). Since WordArt is an applet, it's overheads,
both object size and processing wise are likely to be lower.
Basically, if you _can_ do what you want in WordArt, my advice is
so do it.
Hope this helpz
Paolo
