Hello DAVID! On Wednesday June 20 2007 00:12, you wrote to Ward Dossche: DW> -> It makes sense to have drink cans made out of steel: DW> -> DW> -> 1) It is cheaper DW> -> 2) It is stronger DW> -> 3) It is more readily available DW> -> 4) It is cheaper and easier to recuperate DW> And it rusts. DW> And it's heavier. Plus that aluminium is easer to form into shape. Plus,, that Ward Dossche' claim that drink cans are almost all made of steel here in the EU, does not match the facts. The beer can of a well known brand I have here in front of me is made of aluminium. Including the lid and the clip. Back to the experiment: The composition of the can is relevant. Steel and aluminium have different heat properties. Also, the wall thickness of the steel container may differ from that of an aluminium container. Ground rule is change only one thing at the time. So when comparing different liquids, use the same containers. Same size, same composition...
