Yeppers. I've done it a zillion times in my programming stuff. I think I'm
almost getting it right nowadays... ;-)

It's exactly like you said in your other message, there are basically two
ways to do it of which one assumes an almost constant transfer rate, and
it's the one that goes bonkers if you do anything at all at the same time
(because it measures transfer only from the previous measurement point in
time).
