    Remember they took a few birds that were not worth getting caught over, 
this tells me they were not professional thieves. There is every reasonable
chance that while the exotic birds were shipped out the ones of lesser value 
might turn up in a local petshop ( unsuspecting shopowner) or in a classified 
ads in one of the local papers. Unless they were destroyed :(
