I was able to check my email every day except once. Every hotel/motel where
we stayed had high-speed free wireless internet. Just the Super8 in
Mariposa (CA) did not have it.
 
If that is possible then it can be made possible as well to read Fido-mail
while en-route.
 
Then perhaps the whole concept of 'holidays' is to be away from certain
things for a while.
