 wow ! just noticed your response ! thanks 
 but i seem to be experienceing some difficulties with this modem 
  that the supra 144 LC does not exhibit . and vice verse . 
 i enjoy the 144 as it gets flawless CID packets 
  but it seems to have an intermittent problem accepting commands . 
 aprox 1 in 60 commands sent to the modem will not get executed . 
 the command is echoed and the  at end of line also 
  but the command is not executed and no response is sent back . 
 i wrote a little test script that sends an AT and waits for the OK . 
  the errors vary from 1 appart to a few hundred appart 
  with the average about 1 in 60-70 will not be executed . 
 this happens also for other commands such as ATA or any other string . 
 i have tryed this also on a second 144 from a newer production run 
  but with the same rom of course and got the same results . 
 i have managed to set up detection routines to watch for this effect 
  and reSend the command that does not get executed that work quite well 
  but there are some situations where it is not practical . 
 with the LC in 10,000 attempts i got flawless results , not 1 fail . 
  but it seems to have trouble getting CID packs for calls that 
  come in with a VERY short first ring signal from the phone company . 
 IE if the first ring is not the full 2 second tone but just a short blip . 
 any one else experiencing these effects ? 
 so i guess i need to know if you are familar with theses problems 
  and what the latest rom version for the 144 LC is ? 
 and what is the best method to get one ?
