JP>-> I disagree, I am forever hearing the term "heavy load" when the
JP>-> shooter means "more powerful load". Heavier bullets on the other
JP>-> hand do explain exactly what is meant. The problem is is you say,
JP>-> lack of common terms.
JP>I think only reloaders use "heavy load" that way. To them, it means
JP>exactly that: They've weighed out more powder than ususal.
Okay, you win. :-) (I'm feeling generous today) I've always felt it
was in terms of recoil. A heavy load means it kicked hard, meaning
either a heavier bullet or a regular bullet at lot higher velocity.
JP>-> It can also be confusing to people who _have_ grown up with it all
JP>-> their lives. Ever try speaking in a new england accent down in
JP>-> Alabama or Mississippi? :-)
JP>Uhmm, no, can't say that I have. Don't they still tar & feather
JP>damnyankees down there?
Don't know about tar and feathers, but Sister Nathanial sure had it in
for me when I was in parochial school for a few years in Alabama. My Dad
still changes teh subject when i ask him what he was thinking of when he
moved us down there... :-)
