Howdy Phil,

* In a message Babbled to Randall Lane, Phil Jones Rambled on :

Here in Sydney you can get a Panasonic Quad Speed for $158 Plus Tax..

 > Also Maxtor hard drives... I sell 850Meg for $360 the average
 > was $405

Same Place Maxtor 850 Meg for $229 Plus Tax....

These are DEALER Prices..I suppose it just depends on how much cream you
are trying to skim of the top.

If you wish to confirm these prices call AUSGATE POWER P/L 02-716-6744 and
ask them to sen you a dealer price list..I get most of my BBS bit's and
Pieces from them..Mind you I am in NO way a dealer it just pays to shop
around and use the gift of the gab occassionally.
If you shop around particularly in Sydneys west (ie Cabramatta etc) the
little Chinamen will cut each others throat to do you a deal..The average
markup above cost is 5 to 7 % whereas I have seen some of the greedy
dealers trying to get 50 to 75 %..Any wonder there not there when you try
and get warranty.?
Just my 2 cents worth

          Cheers Shane..
