I'd like to correct one thing here. At the time the Brady Bill came up, 
Reagan was retired and already suffering from Alzheimer's. Paul Laxalt 
came to him with a letter supporting the Brady Bill and asked him to 
sign it. Reagan is super-loyal to old friends so he signed it.
That should not be taken as evidence that he supported the bill - just 
that his mental competance was failing.
