I have a 28.8 fax model.
According to the AT+MS? command I have the silent answer and the Silent
Answer Plus features built in.
My quest is to get these features working. I have tried quite a few
combinations. I am using Fax Talk software version 1.50b For Windows.
Can you suggest an init string for the answer modem set up to enable the
silent answer? I tried AT+FAE=4 as the init string for the modem in Fax
Talk but it will now answer unless I chose auto answer after (x) number of
rings which defeats the whole purpose of the modem being able to discriminate
which kind of call is coming in. B.T.W. there is no answering machine on the
line it is for voice or fax/modem only. Thanks for any help you may be able
