Thanks, Ian, I'll FTP over and check it out.  Between the information that 
Andrew posted for me and a lot of trial and error, I managed to get things 
working. The hardest thing was the flow control -- I'm still not sure whether 
I got it working or not.

Also, I had some trouble setting and disabling DTR (via ASYNC_SETMODEMCTRL). 
I could turn it OFF, but I could not seem to turn it back ON again. My 
application ended up only needing the capability to turn it off, so I was 
alright, but nevertheless, I'd like to figure out why I couldn't get it to 
work right. Any ideas?

One more question.... Do you know what the performance impacts of semaphores 
and critical sections are? I'm using quite a few of them and I'd like to make 
sure I'm not degrading performance if there might be a better way to do 
things.
