Yeah, I used Vmodem too, and it is pretty slick. But, the original
post had several Vmodem ports. If you are connected to the internet
56k(example). That is your pipe. If you only had one user it would fly,
but the more users you add the more you divide up the pipe. Performance
would take a big dive. Now factor in server lag time. This is something
that will have to be balanced out. The Ethernet solution would increase
the pipe and the performance, but increase your expense of running the
system. You would need a T1 and a router. Not a inexpensive investment.
