Oh, I've had bastards before where taking a loss is the only viable

solution, but I'm reluctant to give him a refund on this one to do so..

it'll mean I'm over $350 out of pocket (instead of just $250), and it

IS a different fault than what I originally fixed.. and the customer

knows it.  He's gunna be an unhappy punter no matter what.  If I'm

gunna wear the $250 loss, then he's gunna wear his $100 loss.



I'm playing Mr.Mechanic in this regard..  if he bought his car to me to

have his gearbox fixed, which I did, and charged accordingly. The fact

that he blew his motor up a week or two later doesn't mean I have to

give him a refund on the gearbox repair.
